On 30 March 2016, the 9th National Lawyer Congress (hereinafter referred to as the “Congress”) was held at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. The attendees include MENG Jianzhu, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, Secretary of the Political and Legislative Affairs Committee of the CPC Central Committee, GUO Shengkun, State Councilor, Deputy Secretary of the Political and Legislative Affairs Committee of the CPC Central Committee, ZHOU Qiang, Minister of Public Security, CAO Jianming, President of Supreme People's Court, Procurator-General of the Supreme People's Procuratorate, and WANG Yongqing, GENG Huichang, WU Aiying, CHEN Xunqiu, and FU Zhenghua, Members of the Political and Legislative Affairs Committee of the CPC Central Committee, who have presented the awards of “All China Excellent Law Firm” and “All China Excellent Lawyer” to 100 law firms and 200 lawyers respectively on the Congress.

As a grand gathering of lawyers, the National Lawyer Congress is held once every four years, and this year 354 lawyers nationwide have attended the Congress. 

Lawyers LIU Naijin, from Grandall Tianjin Office, YAO Zhongkai, from Grandall Fuzhou Office and DING Weixiao, from Grandall Shanghai Office have been awarded “All China Excellent Lawyer” and Grandall Shanghai Office “All China Excellent Law Firm”.

YU Ning, Chairman of Grandall and former (the 6th and 7th) President of All China Lawyers Association (“ACLA”), has attended the Congress as specially invited delegate. The other delegates from Grandall include YU Ningjie from Grandall Fuzhou Office, WANG Lianen from Grandall Tianjin Office, CHE Jie from Grandall Nanjing Office, LV Hongbing from Grandall Shanghai Office, LI Shiliang, from Grandall Chengdu Office and SHEN Tianfeng from Grandall Hangzhou Office.

LV Hongbing, Vice President of ACLA, has made the report “Regulations of All China Lawyers Association (Revised Draft)” on the first plenary session of the Congress and presided over the 2nd session as Executive Chairman of the Congress.

The Congress election has produced a new board of directors of ACLA. Grandall lawyers YU Ningjie, CHE Jie, LV Hongbing, LI Shiliang, SHEN Tianfeng and WANG Lianen have been elected as directors; BAI Min, also delegate of the Congress, who is ready to join Grandall, has been elected as Member of Presidium as well as director of the Congress; LV Hongbing has been elected as Managing Director and Vice President of ACLA.
